Requirements

  • Degree in Art History, Theory or Practice, or extensive equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to research directions for exhibition and collection development in line with the Museum’s mission with an emphasis on Modern and Contemporary art from Indonesia and the world.
  • Lead exhibition curatorial project teams, conceive, plan and execute exhibitions and programs including negotiations with lenders and collaborative institutions. 
  • Work with other internal departments to provide content and to deliver museum wide programs, including talks, tours and lectures for audience engagement. 
  • Manage collection development strategies in line with the Museum’s Strategic planning.
  • Conduct research and present its outcome at internal and external events (gallery talks, symposiums, conferences, publishing such as exhibition catalogues, journals). 
  • Assist with the development of junior curatorial colleagues in the execution of exhibitions and programs. 
  • Handle ad-hoc assignments as and when required
  • Record keeping and database management.
  • Developed curatorial knowledge, with at least five years’ experience working within the curatorial field
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of museums and their processes
  • A working knowledge and established professional network of Indonesian and international contemporary visual artists and professionals.
  • Excellent knowledge of Indonesian art history, with a developed understanding of South East Asian and international art. 
  • Exemplary written, verbal, and listening communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally in Bahasa Indonesia and in English.
  • Effective interpersonal skills as well as group interaction and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational planning, project management, problem-solving and collaboration skills with impeccable attention to detail.

Graphic Designer

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experiences in a graphic design studio.
  • Have interest in art and culture.
  • Adept in using Adobe Creative Suite and Macintosh OS.
  • Understand editorial design, motion graphics and photo editing.
  • Work well in a team and individually.
  • Willing to work outside of operational hours if needed.
  • Able to work under pressure and tight deadline.

Exhibition Assistant

 

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in any field.
  • At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Strong personal network of visual artists, art professionals, and other art institution.
  • Knowledge of and an active interest in visual arts is essential.
  • Understand and having experiences in organising various art exhibitions.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in English and Bahasa, verbal and written.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, and Excel).
  • Able to work well under pressure with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Organising and preparing logistics and technical implementation of an exhibition/ program.
  • Involved in administration of Exhibition and Program planning.
  • Coordinating and working together with other departments to ensure succesful exhibitions/ programs.
  • Working in cooperation with artists and other institutions in organising exhibitions/ programs.

Art Handler

 

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least High School or equivalent.
  • At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in art handling.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in an auction house, internationally recognized gallery, shipping agent or art moving services.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with various packing methods suitable to a wide range of media.
  • Basic electrical skills including wiring.
  • Fine carpentry skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe and timely preparation of works of art for displays, exhibition and transport.
  • Install, de-install artwork in galleries and storage areas.
  • Store artwork safely in warehouse.
  • Load/unload trucks, moving crated/ packed works throughout the galleries and warehouse.
  • Pack/unpack artwork for shipment and assist in coordination with shipping agent.
  • Assist in preparing galleries for display/exhibition.
  • Assist in framing and unframing of two dimensional artworks and mounting of three-dimensional works of art.
  • Assist in making assessments concerning the safety of works and taking necessary action to secure artworks.
  • Assist photographers during shoots. Dispose of garbage and unused crates in warehouse and galleries.

Communications Officer

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in communications or journalism
  • Must have minimum 3 years’ experience in PR, marketing, or a related professional role
  • Demonstrated passion and interest in the arts and culture
  • Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills are a must (fluent English is required)
  • Must be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high level of creativity and entrepreneurship
  • The ability to multi-task, prioritize, and handle change at a moment’s notice

Responsibilities

  • Integral to creating and executing overall public relations, marketing, and advertising strategies for the Museum
  • Understands, helps define, and ensures adherence to communication standards
  • Works with the communications department to develop creative new media initiatives, content marketing, and outreach ideas
  • Secures local, regional, national, and international media coverage of the Museum's exhibitions, public programs, fundraising activities, and other important events; manages incoming media requests
  • Writes press releases, pitch letters, fact sheets, media alerts, newsletters, and other communications materials as needed

Responsibilities

  • Develops research to identify potential partners for sponsorship of special exhibitions and events.
  • Stewards relationships, maintains, and expands professional contacts with corporate sponsorship and grant-making officer.
  • Monitors proposal deadlines, develops, writes, and presents highly competitive, compelling corporate sponsorship proposals, grant applications, and renewals.
  • Assists in the determination of appropriate sponsorship benefits and recognition, coordinating delivery of benefits and providing excellent stewardship to all corporate partners.
  • Coordinates appropriate follow-up with funders and monitors tracking systems for proposals, reports, and grant renewals.
  • Collaborates with the Museum's executive, curatorial, event, educational, marketing, publications, and finance offices to fulfil corporate giving goals and partnerships.
  • Manages all corporate grant and sponsorship administration among various museum departments, including timely and regular in-house and external reporting.
  • Works with development staff and the director to identify and cultivate corporate contacts.

  • Gallery sitting and Cloakroom attending on a roaster schedule
  • To handle museum transactions, reporting and submitting cash
  • To have exceptional standards of personal and customer service
  • To answer questions for visitors on site
  • To work alongside colleagues and volunteers and have a flexible approach in operation of the Museum floor
  • To comply with the Museum's Health & Safety policy set out to ensure the safety of the colections and welfare of visitors, staff and volunteers
  • To assist with the Museum's management and at the Museum events
