Melati Suryodarmo will share about her journey as one of Indonesia's most renowned performance artists. 

Explore her artistic journey, which started when she discovered traditional Javanese dance, and developed when she moved to Germany - the country in which she learned about performance art. Melati lives and works in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. 

In this talk, Melati will also discuss Sumarah, a Javanese meditation philosophy that she learned since young, and has become a part of her performance art practice.
