The intertwining of art, media, technology and society encourages us to continue to cultivate new ways of bringing together works, research and the public. One of them is the collaborative production of cross-disciplinary works, where the collaborative process of presenting documentation, archiving and research results in works that are easier to understand, access and study together. The wider access to historical assets increases the possibility of interpretation and this makes in-depth and contextual historical studies all the more important.

'Present Continuous / Sekarang Seterusnya' project exhibited at Museum MACAN presents the work of Terraditionale House (2021), the result of a collaboration between the Jatiwangi art Factory and the Unit Pelaksana Terrakota Daerah (UPTD). As part of the long term Kota Terrakota project, Terraditionale House, highlighting terracotta, as a material that is closely linked to ideas about land, territory, and culture in Jatiwangi, Majalengka.

Meanwhile, 150 km from Majalengka, in Sukaindah Village, West Java, a team of archaeologists from the University of Indonesia discovered an ancient temple complex site in 1984 — a discovery that has since become an excavation project since 1985. Located in an area of five square kilometers of rice fields and villages, this hill-like mound (tumulus) which the locals call unur is apparently a complex consisting of 30 terracotta temples which have been studied since around the 5th to 6th centuries CE, making this site one of the oldest terracotta civilizations and temple structures in Java.
