Ngabuburit and learning at the museum! It is a part of Museum MACAN series program to welcome the holy month of Ramadhan.

Islamic art is an artistic expression that has developed in Islamic regions since the 7th century, encompassing visual works, architecture, literature, and performances that reflect the values of tauhid (the oneness of Allah) and the beauty of nature and humanity. This art is not always about religion, rather universal, while still in line with the spirit of Islam and often featuring geometric ornaments.

One of the well known Islamic art that is often found in our environment is geometry, a combination of art and mathematics. The complexity of repetition motifs in Islamic architecture conveys purity, beauty, and not only educational but also contemplative. 

In the first session, participants will learn how to make basic Islamic geometric patterns using compass, rulers, and pencil. In the second session, participants will coloring geometric patterns on special Eid al-Fitr greeting cards and will conclude with break fasting at the museum.
