Agus Nur Amal, also known by his stage name PM Toh, is an Acehnese storyteller who uses everyday objects as visual aids in his monologues and storytelling performances. With themes around traditional tales and humanities, PM Toh’s stories and practice become an opportunity to share ideas, conflict resolution, and trauma healing. With a career spanning over three decades, PM Toh has collaborated with artists, photographers, videographers, and educators in various creative initiatives to entertain and educate the public.

Coinciding with National Children’s Day, PM Toh returns to Museum MACAN to perform an interactive storytelling session about dreams, home, and the journey of life.

Jalan Lurus, Jalan Terus (translated into English as Carry On Along the Long Straight Path) is an adaptation of a folktale about the origins of the Sasak Tribe in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. Once upon a time, an ancient volcano erupted, making the Island of Lombok a barren land. One day, two lovers who were banished from a nearby island landed on the island. Having lost everything, they were determined to rebuild their life and start anew.

Their hard work paid off. The once barren land was now green and fertile. Their descendants are known today as the Sasak people. This story will be sung through songs and tales by PM Toh, with a message that no efforts will go in vain in the future.
