Bringing together a mindfulness practitioner and artists, this discussion session will invite us to reflect on the journey of life, death, and the process of making peace with grief.

About the Program
Awareness and acceptance in facing death have been the subject of both spiritual teachings and artistic expressions. The works exhibited at ‘Chiharu Shiota: The Soul Trembles’ convey the artist’s deep contemplation of mortality—in particular, how life and death are closely intertwined.
Departing from her own encounter in dealing with near-death experiences as she underwent treatment for a chronic illness, she has transformed her thoughts and feelings on the fleetingness of life into artworks that speak of hope.
In response to the theme and artworks on display, The Journey Beyond presents a mindfulness practitioner and an artist in conversation to discuss the relationship between art and spirituality, specifically in expressing and overcoming grief.
This program is presented in collaboration with Greatmind Indonesia.
