Design tiny furniture and decorate your dream house from shoeboxes. Together, let’s build a city!

About the Program
This workshop is part of the 'Children’s Art Space: Kisah Kotak Sepatu', which is held alongside the exhibition 'Isabel and Alfredo Aquilizan: Somewhere, Elsewhere, Nowhere' at Museum MACAN.
Isabel and Alfredo work together with their family, communities and craftspeople to create artwork inspired by stories about people and places. For the artists, cardboard is a very important material that symbolizes our everyday experiences and longing for home.
'Kisah Kotak Sepatu' invites us to reimagine our home and the city we live in.
In this workshop, the Museum MACAN Education team invites you to create a dream house from a shoe box. Participants can design the furniture and layout of the house, then create them with cardboard. They may take their shoe box house home or place it on the shelf inside the gallery to be a part of a growing city of shoe box houses.
Participants can work individually or in small groups. Suitable for family activity, this workshop will engage us to gather and share our perspectives on what home means to us, where we belong, and the urban experiences that we share.
