Mereka-reka(t) Ingatan (Cluing/Gluing Memories) invites the public to join a visual journal workshop with collage artists. By exploring paper-based medium like scrap wrappers, old magazines, and cardboard, participants are encouraged to express themselves and revisit their memories of family and daily experiences.
Karin Josephine is a Jakarta-based visual artist who focuses on exploring collage techniques through various mediums such as paper, canvas and walls. As she experiences hard of hearing in recent years, her works become her way of self reflection as well as a process to trace her family history, including her personal experiences growing up in a Chinese-Indonesian family, that she pours into her hand-sewn journals.
This workshop is limited to 10 participants. Tools and materials will be provided.
This session is suitable for adults and teenagers (13 and above).
